A dedicated volunteer travels 90 miles each day to work alongside “lovely people” – despite having cerebral palsy.

Peter Moss lives in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, but travels to Newbury to volunteer for the Scope Disabled Charity, which is 45 miles each way – all by public transport.

The 66-year-old man works at the association five days a week.

He said: “When I walked through the door I received such a wonderful welcome, I couldn’t have felt more at home.

“They say I do the extra 90 miles a day for my job, but when you work with such lovely people and get to know our great customers, the idea of ​​knowing that you are helping Scope raise money for them. essential services that support people with disabilities and their families, I am the one who gets so much satisfaction.

The association has offered roles closer to his place of residence, but he insists on staying in Newbury.
