CM Dhami Unveils ‘Beyond The Misty Veil, Temple Tales of Uttarakhand’ by Retired IAS Officer

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday unveiled a book titled “Beyond The Misty Veil, Temple Tales of Uttarakhand” written by retired senior IAS officer Aradhana Johri. In his book, Johri talks about several shrines in Uttarakhand and describes their history.
During the book launch event held at Chief Sevak Sadan located at CM Camp Office, Dehradun, Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated the author – Aradhana Johri and said that the book will be considered as an authentic introduction to the sacred shrines of Uttarakhand in the country as well as abroad. Further adding, CM Dhami said that “Beyond The Misty Veil, Temple Tales of Uttarakhand” will provide the best information to the readers as its content shows how diligently the author has worked. He also said that people will experience the culture and mythology through the book based on the mythical Devabhoomi temples of Uttarakhand.

‘Aradhana Johri’s book will boost religious tourism in the state’: CM Dhami
Speaking about the author, the Chief Minister noted that retired IAS officer Aradhana Johri has done many special works during his tenure as Nainital DM and is now contributing by writing a book. According to CM Dhami, the book would boost religious tourism in Uttarakhand as people would experience a wide range of temples and the folklore surrounding them.
Aradhana Johri, who served as Deputy Minister of Nainital, said there is immense potential for religious tourism in Uttarakhand apart from Chardham. She added that during her posting in Nainital, she was blessed to know about Devbhoomi culture, temples and their folk deities. The retired IAS officer went on to say that it was not easy for him to summarize the architecture, history, folklore and mythology associated with temples in a three hundred page book, saying that She had been researching for three years.
