The Golden State Warriors have a gem on their hands in Jordan Poole. Michigan’s third-year guard is playing out of his mind in the playoffs, earning the respect of at least one All-NBA player.

Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard watched the games from the comfort of his own home as he watches his first playoffs since his rookie season in 2013. But he showed he cares. playoff action, recently weighing in on the Timberwolves-Grizzlies series that serves as a precursor to the current Warriors-Grizzlies game.

It’s clear that Jordan Poole also caught his eye. The Blazers star quote tweeted his business partner Nate Jones who dropped a bold take on the Warriors guard – that he is worthy of a max deal.

Stating that Jordan Poole should get 25% of the salary cap means he’s worthy of the maximum financial commitment Golden State can offer him. It’s hard to argue with that at this point, especially after his team-leading 31 points in a Game 1 win over the Grizzlies.

The only complication is that the Warriors currently have a rather high salary cap, with huge offers for Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins.

But given that Jordan Poole represents Golden State’s future, it’s a safe bet that Joe Lacob, Bob Myers and the rest of the Warriors front office will find a way to give him the contract extension he deserves.
