Is a Taylor Swift and Adele song coming up? Swifties have a theory
It’s no secret that Taylor Swift and Adele are two of the most beloved singer-songwriters. With beautiful and emotionally devastating lyrics and more than enough Grammys to go around, they cemented their name in pop music history. So imagine how iconic a collaboration between the two stars would be! Some fans think a Taylor and Adele duo are on the horizon, and they naturally panic.
ICYMI: July 2, Swiftie’s fandom accounts have started to be shared what looked like a screenshot from the Society of European Stage Authors and Composers (SESAC) confirming that the duo are being recorded together for a new song called “Broken Hearts”. It was reportedly written by “Adele Laurie Blue Adkins” and “Taylor Alison Swift”. Later, It posted an article about the collaboration rumor with what appeared to be a separate screenshot from SESAC, apparently confirming the news.
A collaboration between Adele and Swift would make sense, as they’ve been friends for years. “Someone Like You” Star Attended Swift’s 2018 Reputation to visit, where they then took a cute selfie together. And in 2016, Adele sang the praises of the singer “Willow” in her Time cover of the story, saying: “I love her – how powerful she is. We’re going to be lumped together now because of this, but I think we would both feel the ability to say yes or no to things even if we couldn’t. “
Swift has been very busy last year releasing albums Folklore and Always, and lending his voice to tracks like “Gasoline” by Haim and “Renegade” by Big Red Machine, while re-recording his old albums to reclaim his previous work. While Adèle hosted a memorable episode of Saturday Night Live as of October 2020, there is still no official word on the arrival date of his fourth studio album. As she told a curious fan in August 2020, “frankly i have no idea. “
Hopefully Adele returns soon with even more heartbreaking success, but it looks like she’s unfortunately not returning alongside Swift after all. Later on July 2, an anonymous source reportedly told E! News that “there is no truth“to reports. For now, the only broken heart here is mine!
