A Texas teenager has been arrested after he was filmed running over a man in an electric wheelchair as he motioned for him to slow down.
Pablo Antonio Avila-Banagas, 17, was arrested six days after fleeing, leaving his victim seriously injured.
The disabled man could be seen moving slowly through the North Austin parking lot next to a speed bump in surveillance video released by police.
Suddenly, a white van drove into the firing range, with the man reaching out in an attempt to slow the driver down as he crossed.

A man was crossing the parking lot in his electric wheelchair and noticed a vehicle driving towards him and motioned for him to slow down

Instead, the vehicle appears to hit the man directly without even trying to slow down.
No brake lights can be seen as footage continues to show the man and his wheelchair being dragged under the wheels of the car and onto the main road.
The debris from the chair is then strewn across the parking lot when the driver of the van hits the curb.

Within moments, emergency services were on the scene as the crew of a passing Austin FD fire truck saw what was happening in front of them and immediately pulled over to provide first aid.
The victim was left with serious life-threatening injuries, Austin police said.
Avila-Banagas was taken into custody six days after the September 9 incident and charged with injuring a disabled person, failing to stop and render assistance, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
