Users reported that when they checked with Twitter’s API and in-app purchases for Twitter Blue Verified, they no longer see it as released for production. There is no clarification on which feature is disabled or if there is a technical issue.
Blue Twitter
Twitter Blue was a plan that was going to cost $7.99 per month and it launched on iPhones in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK.
Twitter’s blue features were to include long videos and priority in replies, mentions and search. The company also claimed to have halved the number of ads and made ads more relevant to users.
This addition was supposed to help the company fight against bots.
Blue Twitter in India
The feature is expected to roll out in India for Rs 719 per month, which is actually higher than the $8 charged in other countries. But only a few Twitter users received prompts for Blue Twitter.
Twitter has already started using official labeling for Indian government handles and Indian media handles. For example, the Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official Twitter account and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s Twitter account also bear the “official label”.
Musk had also warned Twitter employees that there would be tough times ahead that could lead to the social media platform collapsing if they didn’t find a way to make money.
Elon Musk’s takeover hit him badly as his net worth was less than $200 billion as investors dumped Tesla shares amid fears Musk was no longer preoccupied with Twitter.
