Ranked games are at the heart of the Valorant experience, and when it’s so natural, when they’re not available to play, everyone wonders why Valorant competitive queue is disabled. Here’s what we know about the issue, which is currently preventing anyone from playing the game’s competitive mode.
Why are Valorant competitive queues disabled? Answered
Valorant’s Competitive Queues are down due to server maintenance. This is part of the rollout of the game’s latest update, patch 5.06. You will not be able to play the game while this is happening. The last time Competitive Queues were intentionally disabled was during the 5.05 patch rollout, when they went down in every region for several hours as Riot Games rolled out the new update. This will probably also be the case for patch 5.06.
The generic hours for each region’s server maintenance during patch deployment are as follows:
Asia Pacific: 2:00 p.m. PDT
Brazil: 6:00 a.m. PDT
Europe: 8:00 p.m. PDT
Korea: 2:00 p.m. PDT
Latin America: 06:00 PDT
North America: 6:00 a.m. PDT

How long does Valorant server maintenance last? Answered
As for server maintenance for updates, servers will only be down for a short time, no more than about three hours.
However, in the event of a bug, server maintenance may take longer. When the development team encounters unexpected issues after releasing a new patch, such as the flash exploit currently plaguing the game, it can take several hours to resolve.
Typically, if you look in the upper left corner of the menu screen when attempting to enter a Competitive Lobby, you will actually see a reference to the issue in question. Riot usually takes note of such issues on its Twitter channel as well, as noted above.
