Why Some Fans Don’t Think Taylor Swift Will Attend the 2022 Grammys

The 64th Annual Grammy Awards will take place on April 3 in Las Vegas. Taylor Swift’s Scrapbook always is nominated for album of the year. While Swift is nominated for the 2022 Grammy Awards, some fans of the singer-songwriter don’t think she’ll be attending the awards show.

Taylor Swift is nominated for the 2022 Grammy Awards

Swift released always on December 11, 2020. The album was a surprise release and is considered a companion album to Swift’s 2020 album folklorewhich won Album of the Year at the 2021 Grammy Awards.

The Recording Academy announced the nominations for the 2022 Grammy Awards on November 23, 2021.

The nominations for album of the year are:

After always received the Album of the Year nomination, Swift shared a video of herself singing the song “champagne problems” from the album on social media.

“NO PROBLEMS TODAY JUST CHAMPAGNE,” Swift tweeted. “I wanted to share this video with you when @aaron_dessner and I were doing our fittings for the video and there was a piano, so it happened a lot. SO stoked evermore was honored like this. Congratulations to all of our fellow nominees #GRAMMYs.

Some fans don’t think Taylor Swift will attend the 2022 Grammys

While Swift is clearly grateful that always was nominated for the 2022 Grammy Awards, some fans don’t think she’ll be attending the awards show.

Because Swift won Album of the Year at the last Grammy Awards, some fans don’t think she’ll be able to repeat the success with always. Swift notably did not promote always the same way she did folkloretricking fans into thinking she won’t be making an appearance at the upcoming Grammy Awards.

“I don’t think so, she knows she won’t win and hasn’t campaigned much for it (although I would obviously love to see her),” a fan wrote on Reddit.

“She won’t win anything this time so no she won’t participate,” wrote one Reddit user.

“I’m guessing – completely arbitrarily assigning odds – attendance is around 50% and performance is probably only around 10%,” one fan speculated on Reddit.

A few days before the 2022 Grammy Awards, the Recording Academy has already announced many artists, confirming the presence of several nominees. At this time, Swift is not listed as a performer.
